Review an archive before choosing which data to restore to your store.
How to use it
- Open Restore in ThemeGuard.
- Import your portable backup archive.
- Review the available data, permission notices, and restore options.
- Select the data and destination supported by the preview.
- Start the restore, keep the tab open, and review its report when finished.
Restore theme settings only
Choose Restore JSON settings only and select an existing, compatible destination theme. Its code, assets, and settings schemas remain in place. Applying settings to a published theme changes the live storefront. Theme-write approval is required.
Recovery limits
Shopify permissions and API restrictions affect what can be restored. Some data may require manual recovery. Read both the archive report and restore report; a successful capture does not guarantee every item can be restored automatically.
Save a current backup before restoring. Preview changes carefully and retain the original archive. Full backup and restore completion has not yet been verified for the separate ThemeGuard registration. For help with an interrupted or incomplete restore, contact support.
