Create a portable archive of the data your installed app is permitted to access.

How to use it

  1. Open Backup in ThemeGuard.
  2. Select the data you want to capture and review access notices.
  3. Start the backup and keep the tab open while it runs.
  4. Review the completion report for missing access, unsupported data, or failures.
  5. Download the completed archive and keep it somewhere you control.

Interrupted backups

After refreshing, use Resume backup in the same browser on the same device to continue an interrupted export. Completed steps can be reused. Download is available after the export completes.

Theme settings only

Choose Themes & customizations, select a theme, uncheck Full theme package, and leave Theme JSON settings checked. The archive includes settings data, JSON templates, and section groups for a compatible destination theme.

Good to know

ThemeGuard has no hosted archive storage or scheduled automatic backups. Google Drive is not configured for the separate ThemeGuard registration yet. Access restrictions can limit the captured data; always read the backup report. A backup is not a complete clone of a Shopify account.
